Shell Cove House enjoys an idyllic setting on the South Devon coast.

Here the climate is so mild that subtropical plants flourish year round in the lovely gardens.

The many delights of Devon are on the doorstep – the coastal footpath, the English Riviera, Dartmoor, the historic city of Exeter, Dartmouth and the South Hams.

Shell Cove House has numerous facilities for adults and children alike.

On the beach explore the caves and rock pools. Swim in the sea or comb the sands for the latest treasures to have come in on the tide. Watch the trains as they weave in and out of the tunnels as you fish from the sea wall. Take an invigorating walk during a winter storm before returning “home” for a cream tea. Watch the moon rise over the sea, casting a silver path to the beach.

By the pools relax on a sun lounger by the crystal clear heated swimming pool. Sip something cool as you watch the ever changing sea view.

The heated toddler’s pool with its dolphin fountain entertains the little children and with underwater lights a late night dip is the perfect end to the day. Both pools, like the cliff, are safely fenced.

Play croquet or take a stroll around the gardens and you may happen upon the gingerbread house and children’s playground. Visit the viewpoint and meet another guest who will have undoubtedly been before. Sit in the bird hide gazebo and watch for kestrels in the pines or dolphins out to sea.

Spot a woodpecker or rabbit on the lawn and return via reception to borrow tennis racquets.

On dull days children can escape to the games room to play with traditional toys or enjoy a game of table tennis.

Children of all ages are most welcome at Shell Cove House. There is a fully equipped laundry room and, if required, a daily maid service can be booked to give mum (and dad) a rest! Complimentary cots, high chairs and more can be selected from the toddlers pack.
