You can see the fishing boats from Shell Cove or hop on a boat and catch your own! Farm Shops, Markets and local Specialist Shops
In the local towns of Dawlish and Teignmouth we have wonderful fishmongers, bakers, butchers, delis, and a Swiss patisserie. There are farmers markets and local farm shops. For example at Powderham local delicacies include venison from the castle. Choose your wine from the local vineyard and fresh seafood from Teignmouth beach and Brixham fish market.

Eating Out
There are many good pubs and restaurants nearby. Our local family friendly pub, the Smugglers Inn is just 5 minutes walk and serves meat from the local farms. In our thatched village of Holcombe the Castle Inn with its open fire serves local scallops and delicious homemade desserts and fine dining can be enjoyed at the Rodean restaurant.

Picnics, Take-Aways and Barbecues
For easy days, choose from an excellent selection of Take-Aways in Dawlish or the award winning Fish and Chip Shop 'Hanburys' at Babbacombe. Borrow the Barbecue, pop to the Creamery for Devon Pasties or picnic al-fresco in the gardens. Best of all, Winter or Summer, build a small fire on the beach and cook your own sausages. They will probably be sandy and burnt but your children will never forget them!
